This is Halloween!!

Of course we have visited Disneyland Halloweentime a couple times this year. I wish I could plant my yard with the flowers like Disney does since our trees dont change colors, it instantly feels like fall.....

even when its still 90 degrees out! :)

Last night we carved our Pumpkins/Apples.

Mason has insisted on calling them APPLES all season, so fine, whatever you want child :)

Its the FIRST year Paige has finally gotten her hands dirty and cleaned out her own pumpkin!

Of course Mason had NO hesitation. Mushy, Yucky, Mess....hes all about it!

The fun seemed to NEVER end....and then we figured out why....

Mason was 'refilling' the pumpkins with the guts as Paige kept pulling them out....

it was halarious to watch when she finally figured it out :)

Mason could not stop staring at his 'apple' with a face in it now.

Then when the candle went inside to light it he started to sing 'happy happy' for happy birthday....wrong holiday bud :) then we had to blow it out and clap.

Its a BUGS LIFE!

I spy with my little eyes something that is SLIMY NASTY and is TAKING OVER OUR HOUSE!!!!!

OK so seriously, weve noticed that there are more and more of these HUGE snails popping up in our yard....thinking....snails are normal to have in a yard....ill get some poison soon.....
well my friends,
in our city and seems to be OUR BACKYARD ONLY...we cant wait for bugs to "go away"....
We never have " bugs in moderation" there are always HUGE and nasty and thousands.
So on Tuesday Mason and I headed out to the promised land of the snail killer and bought a box.
It rained Wed so I put the box out last night (so its not in the house with the kids) and said Ill dump this out tomorrow.
I look out my window THIS MORNING to see this!!!!!
THEY ARE EATING THE BOX OF POISON!
I swear if we had a small dog, it would be GONE.

I went to work and poured my 'BUG GETA' ALL OVER the dirt and hope to not see Hundreds of these things climbing all over our walls, plants, toys, and house ANY MORE! :)

My Papa

Today is 11 years since my Papa was taken back to live in heaven.

Hard to believe another year has gone by.

On wednesday we were driving and out of nowhere Paige asked when we could go and visit the place where Papa Steve was in the ground. I took them out last year and I was thinking of taking them out sometime this week but didnt know if we had time. Yesterday we were heading out to OC so I thought it would be perfect to stop by.

Our tradition of making pictures for him and putting bird seed on his headstone to draw the "birds"?! I dont know but the kids like it so thats fine :)

Watching a rolly pollie crawl around. Trying to keep Mason from smooshing it which is his first reaction for bugs :)

We try and talk a lot about Papa Steve to the kids. Teaching them about his life is really important to me and Craig also. We definately know he watches over us.

Mason seemed to LOVE being there. When we got out of the car he ran towards the headstones saying "papa, papa, papa". I thought.....does he really know what we are doing?!

I think he does. He didnt want to leave either. He kept waving and saying "bye papa" over and over. I know our young kids know more and see more than we can and he may remember more of his Grandpa than I think he does. Pretty special.

and then I looked over and we were apparently at the Carls Jr Play place!! HELLOOOOO get OFF the headstone! :) wow.

Not a great picture......but its Me, mom and papa at maybe the Grand Canyon?

Looks like fun times :) hahha.

Pumpkins and the peacock feather......

We headed down to Valley Center to visit Bates Nut Farm once again this year to get our Pumpkins! Here are a couple pictures from when Paige was almost 2 (3 years ago)-some of my favorites :)

Once again I got my "fix" seeing the piles of ORANGE pumpkins!

Then Paige spotted this PEACOCK.

She has recently become obsessed with peacocks.

I dont know where it came from. She is going to be a peacock for halloween so this was her dream come true to see one in real life.

The only thing BETTER was that she found one of the peacock FEATHERS on the ground and it was almost better than a day at DISNEYLAND for her!

Then after that EVERY picture we took was a POSE with the Peacock feather.

Its her new BFF.

We found the massive pumpkins and had fun climbing all over them.

Now its time to watch ITS THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN and burn some yummy candles.

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR.
