Easter shananagans.

We had a really fun Easter weekend.

Saturday is always filled with laughs, new litters of puppies, trampoline jumping, homemade strawberry ice cream, cheesy potatoes, Egg racing & of course CHOCOLATE!

My egg racer. Hes a trooper. It was his 6th year competing and once again....he really let me down! :)

Anything colored and round was going in his basket, whether it was an egg or not. He found a half eated orange and threw that in the mix as well....ewwwwwwwwwwww.

She was very particular this year.

If it wasnt a plastic egg full of candy or $$ she wasnt having it.

and she was especially excited because there were HSM eggs.

In the morning, we woke up and Craig says....Paige is probably already down there eating her candy....I thought no way....

She came up to our room dressed in her new bathing suit, Sucking on a chocolate egg, So excited to tell us about what the Easter bunny had brought her!!!

Talk about a buzz kill :)

So cute and ready for church. She also gave her first talk in Primary today. She did awsome. NO fear of public speaking for this little girl. I know she didnt inherit that one from me :)

And trying to nail this little boy down for a picture is almost impossible :)

He was more impressed with this lady bug......

and then......he killed it.

They do look adorable though.

All day its been like this......grunt, grunt, grunt!

Fun fun weekend away!

We were lucky enough to get a 2 night hotel voucher from some friends & we used it to play in Oceanside this weekend.

We got to the hotel friday night and the kids were SO EXCITED!

The initiation of the hotel bed.....and the race to see who hits thier head or gets bounced to the floor first... MASON WON! :)

Ive always wanted to go down to see the Flower Fields in Carlsbad and we got our chance!
Love how bright these flowers are.
Its a little expensive but has a lot of things for kids, a maze, wagon rides, stamps to find at different places, and playground (that has old santas village playhouses in it)

She led the way out of the sweet pea maze. It smelled SOOOO GOOOD!!!

Looked a little bit like MUNCHKIN LAND.

It was really bright, starting to get hot, kids are tired...hungry...u see where im going with this? :)

Paige is always up for some picture posing.

I have pictures with my bro and sisters in this same playhouse at Santas Village , so it was kinda cool to get thier pictures in there too

Then we headed down to the Pier. It was getting cold, but we toughed it out.

So he then raced to the 40 degree ocean water :)
He wanted to dive in and go for a swim. I have my hands full this summer!

Time for some Rubys on the pier. The balloon man made this Ariel for Paige. She was thrilled with it. I was a little unsure :)

We spent a couple hours at our table in RUBYS. We had ocean view. Enjoyed hamburgers , onion rings & Sodas. Then a hot fudge Brownie sunday while the sun set.....

Paige's dance team was in thier first competition over the weekend.

I was completely prepared...

Pageant Make up (hesitantly).... check

Sunglasses for all the sequence and Rhinestones viewed on stage....check :)

& 1 adorable costume to fit the cutest girl in the world :)

Then, I was threatened by the Competition bouncer to turn off my flash (woops) or the entire team would be disqalified....Im NEW , relax!! :)

Here are the Trophy "pirates" - Taylor has had it at her house for the last 2 days, its Paiges turn tonight and im pretty sure shes planning on sleeping with it in her bed.

Weve got 3 more of these Saturdays in our future......Im definately brining more chocolate for the next one to get us through the day :)

They did awsome. Paige LOVES being on stage. Shes fearless and we were so proud of her!

At her age, there is NO way I would have wanted to be out on that stage.

Im glad she does though - its a lot of fun to watch.

I wanted to post this video and then pictures later. The girls were the trophy captains for this competition. Thier little group won "Tu-Tu cute".

The BEST day of Paige's Life!

Last week we ventured to Valley Center for the Annual Pie Auction. Each year the Armstrongs(my aunt and uncle) have a pie auction (which also includes jars of my Grandpa Jacks amazing salsa and hot carrots) to raise money for a scholarship set up in my Cousin Jasons Name. He was in an accident when he was 15 in 1995 and passed away. In his honor each year they are able to give scholarships to kids who were participating in some of the same acitivities as my cousin was. So we decided to check it out this year....

Mason explored these ginormous animals with Great Grandma and Grandpa Jack.

Paige had her first "soarin over california" disneyland experience a few months ago. Valley Center is full of orange trees. As we were driving in she says "they are so lucky to live in San Diego! Its just like Soarin!!" She was in HEAVEN. Picking all the oranges in the grove. She would pull and pull and when it came off the tree she would hit the ground :)

She must maintain her Rock star poses even in the middle of the farm lands :)

Mason was in heaven too. He was surrounded by his Doggies....had a wagon full of what he thought were balls and kept throwing them out....and eating the peel repeatedly and making the funniest faces :)

I think the day was a SUCCESS - Walking back up to the house Paige says "this is the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

They ended up making almost $6000 for the Scholarship fund. Amazing!

I ENVY the person who walked home with this one.....
